Thanks to that one pesky guest who gatecrashed the party in 2020, the grand Indian tradition of weddings has been forced to metamorphize into the bleak Indian necessity of micro weddings. While this may be a much-needed step to ensure safety, we do realize that it could put a damper on wedding festivities. But, like all other clouds, this one has a silver lining too! Dear bride and groom-to-be, are you frustrated about playing down your big day? Focus your energies on making your honeymoon an out-of-the-world experience instead! Yes, it might be unclear when exactly you’ll be able to go on that honeymoon, but trust us, the activity of planning it together in itself can be an incredibly exhilarating experience for you lovebirds.

“I feel guilty to even think about planning my honeymoon right now.”

There has been a lot of debate over whether travel, unless essential, should be put to a stop until the world gets the pandemic under control. It is quite unsurprising that such a conversation is making people, especially those planning their big days or their vacations feel guilt-ridden. While we agree that the travel restrictions may be a necessary step to contain the spread of the virus, we would also like to point out that
the human need to move around, the undeniable need for space and wandering are innate to us. Within every one of us is a traveler that might be wide awake or deeply asleep, but the truth remains that we are all inherent travel bugs. So there is really no reason to feel guilty over wanting to travel or think of your honeymoon, as long as we remember that we do not need to act on those whims right away.

“Why should I plan for something that may or may not happen?”

Well, the answer is quite simple, really. The pandemic cannot go on forever. How do we know? Through history, of course. It is no secret that our planet has seen more severe and intense disease outbreaks over the course of its existence. Coupled with the hope offered by fast-advancing modern medicine and the immensely helpful philosophy of ‘this too shall pass’, we at DMC Leisure, are optimistic of the sun soon shining on a day when we can once again go back to following our pursuits. Besides, like we said, the activity of planning a honeymoon together at leisure can be an immensely intimate and nurturing experience for the two of you.

“So how do I start planning?”

The great thing about all this time in your hands is that you can plan your special trip in excruciating and exciting detail. It is our suggestion that you put together a small vision board and fill it up with all the fun things you want to do on your honeymoon at all the places you want to visit. To make things super easy for you, our DMC travel advisors put together a list of both domestic and international places they know you’d enjoy after months of being cooped up at home!
